When Saturday Comes

2

This is just a very quick blog-brag to alert you to an article that I have had published in the latest issue of the UK football magazine ‘When Saturday Comes’. They got in touch a few weeks ago asking me to send them my take on what World Cup expansion means for New Zealand, and obviously I was very honoured to be approached.

I felt a real sense of pressure to somehow represent the views of New Zealand football fans on this topic and not waste an opportunity that many others would have been grateful for. While not everyone will agree with my take, I hope I didn’t let the side down too badly!!

Copies of When Saturday Comes are difficult to come by in New Zealand. I’m told that Magnetix in Wellington stock it but I’m not sure where else it might be available in hard copy in other centres.

As luck would have it though, you can get it electronically via the WSC app for smartphone and tablet. There is a small subscription to pay but for that you get access to their extensive back catalogue and there’s a ton of great reading to be had there!

As the Dilmah Tea man would say – do try it.

  1. Well done! Paper Power in Browns Bay on the North Shore stocks it…..picked up Decembers issue there on the weekend. I’ve also seen it in the newsagents in Pt Chev and on Wyndham Street in Auckland.

      1. Yeah I think it’ll be about a month or two……I should download the app really but quite like the old-school feeling of picking it up from a newsagents. Its a great read!

  2. Mag Nation in Ponsonby, Auckland also stock WSC. But you might need to reserve a copy, they seem to run out every month. There is some free content online too.

You have a good blog here.
