Hopefully you have noticed lately that I am not the only one talking rubbish around here anymore!
Much to my delight John Palethorpe, a well-respected and established political blogger on his own Shinbone Star website, has generously agreed to come aboard and indulge his football passion on in-the-back-of-the.net. He started posting a few weeks ago without fanfare and has already made a great impact with his ‘biased match reports’ amongst other things.
In addition to that, I am thrilled to announce the arrival of a third amigo! Wellington based Phoenix worshipper Tracey Hodge has also stepped up and will start posting shortly. Tracey already has a great blogging pedigree having contributed some excellent writing to Yellow Fever, so I know she will be a real hit here.
The ‘about’ page has now been updated to reflect the fact that it’s no longer all about me, and if you are ever in doubt about who is to blame for something – check the byline. Or if the piece is pro Auckland City FC it’s probably a pretty good hint that I didn’t write it! 😉
All this is great because it’s the realisation of my original vision for this to be a group blog, where lots of different voices are heard. It will grow the appeal of the place, grow the readership base, and build the blog up to a level where it can continue on if I ever fall under a bus or run out of oomph. But most importantly it brings the football community closer to filling the void left by the absence of print magazines for and about New Zealand football.
I remain eager to get more writers on board. If you’d like to be part of the gang, e-mail me on casagiordani at orcon dot net dot nz.
