I might not be blogging much, if at all, for the next week or so, and I certainly won’t be attending any NRFL this weekend. This is due to my favourite football team in the known universe (and the unknown part of it too) being down under for a couple of friendlies in Melbourne. They play Real Madrid on Saturday and Manchester City on Tuesday, both at the MCG. Needless to say I’ll be there!
So it’s ‘arrivederci New Zealand’ from me for a few days. But before I go, I thought I’d leave you with a bit of a visual celebration of the occasion – seven great Australian films made better with an injection of Roma!
Daniele De Rossi is a lot better looking than Russell Crowe in ‘Roma Stomper’.
‘Mad Max II – Roma Warrior’. If you thought the post-apocalyptic Australian outback was tough, try turning up at Trigoria after a bad result in Serie A…
‘Priscilla, Queen of the Roma’ is a heartwarming tale of the opening of a new stadium in the best city in the world.
In ‘Muriel’s Roma’ Muriel realises that getting married isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, so she drops everything, moves to Rome and buys a season ticket on the Curva Sud.
‘Roma Proof Fence’ is the story of a Roma fan who wouldn’t be kept from getting a selfie with one of his heroes… Stay tuned to see how it ends…
…and finally, we have ‘Moulin Roma’ the story of Walter, the transfer guru that always gets his man, and the signings he picks up along the way for season 2015-16…
